Thrive is an ongoing monthly health and well-being program for Ontario educators. Each month you get a short online lesson on one practical topic, plus one live, small-group psychotherapy session led by a Registered Psychotherapist.
Ontario educators working in a public or Catholic school board.
Each month brings one practical focus across body, mind and life: from nutrition, sleep and movement, to stress, anxiety and burnout, to relationships, time management and goals.
One short lesson each month, done on your own time, and one group session of 60 minutes. That's it. There's no backlog and no catching up.
No. The lessons are encouraged, but you're always welcome at your group.
When you register, you will receive a short introduction of about 20 to 30 minutes that you complete before your first group. It explains the simple, CBT-based approach that the whole program builds on.
We know teachers are busy, so Thrive is designed not to overwhelm you. More isn’t always better. Our job is to carefully curate health and well-being information, so each month brings one clear focus that you can study and apply. As you learn and grow, you'll have more options to explore.
Registration is free, and your lessons and tools are included. Each group session you attend is billed at $167, a standard psychotherapy rate. You're only billed after you attend.
Thrive's group sessions are psychotherapy led by a Registered Psychotherapist, and they're covered by most Ontario teachers' extended health benefits plans. Many educators have a yearly amount for mental health services that can be used toward their sessions. We're happy to help you check.
In most cases, you don't. We bill your benefits provider directly through TELUS Health, so there's no paying upfront and no claim forms.
Life happens. If you can’t make your regular session, just let us know at least 24 hours ahead, and we’ll do our best to find you a spot in another group that month. And if something unexpected comes up, we’ll always be understanding.
Up to 10 educators meet with a Registered Psychotherapist to review the topic of the month and apply what they're learning. It's genuine psychotherapy, in a warm, practical and confidential setting. As in any group counselling, what’s shared in the group stays in the group.
Yes. Sessions are held by secure video call, so you can join from home. You'll get a reminder with your link 24 hours before each session.
When you join, you choose one regular monthly time that suits you, and you stay with that group. Options are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
No. If you're in crisis, call or text 9-8-8 (the Suicide Crisis Helpline), call 911, or go to your nearest emergency department.
